STEM NOLA Hands-on Summer Camp at Martin Behrman
Note: Registration fee is refundable for students based on perfect attendance.
Session 1: Friction, Force & Motion
- Ages: K – 8th Grade
- Dates: June 3 – June 6 | Mon-Thurs 9am-3pm
- Registration: $25 per session | Camp Fee $0
- Location: Martin Behrman
- Description: During this session, kids will explore the physics behind force and motion and principles of physics. They will go through hands-on activities that will apply what they learn to compete in a STEM- Olympics.
Session 2: Buoyancy & Density & Environmental Science
- Ages: K – 8th Grade
- Dates: June 10 – June 14 | Mon-Thurs 9am-3pm
- Registration: $25 per session | Camp Fee $0
- Location: Martin Behrman
- Description: During this session, kids will what Archimedes” Principle and why things float. Kids will also get hands-on with the environment and how to make thinks grow and keeping the earth green. They will go through hands-on activities that will apply what they learn to compete in a STEM Olympics.
Session 3 Circuits & Technology
- Ages: K – 8th Grade
- Dates: June 17 – 18, June 20 | Mon-Thurs 9am-3pm
- Registration: $25 per session | Camp Fee $0
- Location: Martin Behrman
- Description: During this session, kids will learn more about how electricity flows and connect how circuits are used in everyday life through robotics and technology. They will go through hands-on activities that will apply what they learn to compete in a STEM- Olympics.
Session 4 Chemistry & Biology
- Ages: K – 8th Grade
- Dates: June 24 – June 27 | Mon-Thurs 9am-3pm
- Registration: $25 per session | Camp Fee $0
- Location: Martin Behrman
- Description: During this session, kids will explore properties of the human anatomy like the heart, lungs and circulatory system. Kids will also get hands on with reactions by creating chemical reactions and learning the difference between endothermic and exothermic reactions. They will go through hands-on activities that will apply what they learn to compete in a STEM- Olympics.

STEM NOLA serves Pre-K- 8th grade students who attend schools classified as “economically disadvantaged” and/or “academically in need of support,” through a grant funded program by the Louisiana Department of Education.
STEM NOLA works to assist partner schools with offering “after school” programming. In this capacity, STEM NOLA provides homework assistance to help students develop strategies for overcoming academic challenges experienced in their classrooms every day. In addition, students also do STEM project-based modules to ensure they engage in skills necessary for success in math, science and reading.
